Parents are often afraid to foster or adopt a child who has experienced sexual abuse, but children can and do heal from this type of abuse. In this course, we talk with Dr. Jennifer Shaw a Clinical Psychologist with the Gill Institute for Trauma Recovery who specializes in the assessment and treatment of trauma in children, especially those who present with sexual behavior problems. She discusses what parents can do to help the child heal.
