In this course we will talk about the health of foster kids in the most general sense, incorporating physical, emotional, mental, behavioral, developmental, and oral health. The instructor is Christy Street, Program Director of Fostering Health NC, which is a program of North Carolina Pediatric Society.

This course covers the following learning objectives:

  • Explain how trauma can impact health.
  • Explain the role of psychotropic medications in the health care of foster children.
  • Explain the role of foster parents in addressing the health issues common with foster children.
